Pick-Up and Drop-Off
Terrace Elementary has a set drop-off and pick-up procedure. Thank you for your cooperation in following the outlined procedure. The safety of our children is our number one priority!
- If you are dropping off students at Terrace in the morning, please use the front pull off area located east of Terrace on School Street. We ask that you line up behind the school buses.
- If you want to come to get your student during the school day or want to walk your student to the building in the morning, you MUST park in the lot located between Terrace and Parkview. Please note there is a separate lane for daycare vans, we ask that you not park in the drive up areas. Please use caution when entering and exiting the parking lot.
- If you are picking up students at Terrace in the afternoon and will be arriving before 2:40 pm, please park in our parking lot. Parents are welcome to wait for children outside at the main entrance of the building. The front pull off area on School Street will be reserved for Ankeny Community School buses from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm daily. If you are picking up a child/children in the afternoon and will be arriving after 2:40 pm, you may line up behind the Ankeny Community School buses and use the School Street pull off area.
- If your child is being transported by a childcare facility they will be parking along the south curb in the parking lot.
The east main entrance to Terrace is the only entrance we will use for entering and exiting the building each morning and afternoon. Each morning an adult will be out front beginning at 7:40 am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 8:40 am on Wednesday. When the weather permits, students will remain outside with the adult. Otherwise, students will report to the gym also through the front doors.
